Day 12 (9/27-9/30)

PLEASE REVIEW THE LATE WORK POLICY ON THE SYLLABUS.
  • Rhetorical Triangle Review: in groups, we created a rhetorical triangle and discussed the best way to go about constructing one. Note are available in the separate AP tab on this blog.
  • Writing Lab: after the triangle assignment, the class time was provided for everyone to work on their essays.
    • ALL ESSAYS FOR BOTH A & B DAY ARE DUE IN THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM BY 11:59 PM ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO LATE ESSAYS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • Unit One ICB Assessment on Thursday October 3 and Friday October 4.
    • If you are absent, you will need to make an appointment with me and make this assessment up PRIOR TO  Friday, October 11.
    • YOU WILL NEED A BOOK FOR THIS ASSESSMENT.
    • ALL students are expected to take this exam (regardless of whether or not you have completed the summer assignment. It has been 1 month. You should have at least finished reading the book by now, especially with all the class time that has been given to everyone to work on essays.
  • HOMEWORK:
    • Keep working on outlines and start essays. 
    • Secure your copy of "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller by Monday, October 7.
  • Summer Reading Extension Students: your book, questions, outline, and essay are all due by 9 AM October 25. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED as this extension is 2 months from the original due date. NO EXCEPTIONS.

ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 AFTER SCHOOL (4:15-5:30), I WILL BE AVAILABLE TO OFFER  FEEDBACK ON YOUR ESSAYS PRIOR TO SUBMISSION. I WILL NOT GRADE YOUR ESSAY IN FRONT OF YOU DURING THIS SESSION. I WILL OFFER FEEDBACK, SUGGESTIONS, AND REMINDERS. THIS IS ALSO A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO KNOCK OUT THE FINAL PIECES OF YOUR ESSAY WITH MINIMAL DISTRACTIONS.

      • We split off into groups and continued to read and annotate "Marigolds".
    Anyone who has missed any lessons above in StudySync, will need to complete them by next week.
